NAMI is the largest grassroots mental health organization in the US, with over 600 local affiliates. They provide free support groups, educational programs, and a helpline for individuals and families affected by mental illness, including specialized programs for families of children with mental health conditions.
All NAMI programs, support groups, and helpline services are free. The NAMI Helpline (1-800-950-6264) provides information and referrals Monday through Friday.
If your child has a mental health condition, NAMI's Family-to-Family program is a free 8-session course that teaches families about diagnoses, treatment options, communication skills, and self-care. It is taught by trained family members who have been through similar experiences.
