Best Buddies creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their school-based friendship programs pair students with and without disabilities in over 3,000 chapters worldwide.
Best Buddies programs are free for participants. School chapters are volunteer-driven with support from the national organization.
If your child has an intellectual or developmental disability, Best Buddies school chapters provide meaningful peer friendships. If your child does not have a disability, volunteering as a buddy builds empathy, leadership, and perspective. Both sides benefit from the relationship.
